Owner of Balance n Bodywork Massage Therapy celebrated her 11thM QWERTYUJIKOL;/'
year in business this past March and her success is directly related to the passion she feels toward helping people relieve their muscular pain and tension. Jennifer is a certified licensed massage therapist who chose this profession after experiencing the successful results of massage therapy as a young, student athlete. “I was really involved in athletics as a teenager and I am still very active today,” says Jennifer. “When I got injured playing sports in high school and had to go to physical and massage therapy I was very impressed with how these therapies helped me. It was then that I knew what I wanted to do.”
Jennifer went to Lasell College to become a Physical Therapy Assistant and continued to focus her work on Muscular Therapy. She has continued to focus her work on the muscular therapy. “My studio is not a spa,” states Jennifer emphatically. “It truly is a therapeutic treatment with the focus on relieving pain so that the client can get back their quality of life. This therapy is a necessity, not a luxury.”
When a client comes to her studio Jennifer can see the pain they are experiencing and she is confident that she can work with a client not just through the muscular therapy but also through educating them on self-care techniques and stretching exercises they can do at home. “Our most common pain complaints usually focus around the lower back, neck, and shoulder area. I also treat a lot of elbow pain, TMJ, and migraines,” says Jennifer. “It is common for clients to come in who have been in pain for weeks, months and even years. They are referred to me by doctors and physical therapists.” Jennifer takes great joy in seeing her clients return to normal activities and be relieved of their pain. “I have the best relationship with my clients, I care about their health not just when they are here for massage therapy but beyond, in their daily lives.”
Balance n Bodywork Massage Therapy is not a spa but a high quality massage studio offering quality care in a safe, nurturing, therapeutic environment. Jennifer concludes, “Our focus is to decrease muscular pain and tension while assisting in healing, improving circulation and teaching body education.”

Mission Statement ...It is no secret that mankind has succeeded in making himself sick, stressed, exhausted and depressed. The time has come to bring healing and hope back into our lives - our very future depends on it! My mission is to provide a safe and sacred environment for our individual community to heal by offering healing sessions, workshops, classes and counsel which empowers others by teaching them how to heal themselves.
About Me My name is Grace Walsh. I am a Reiki Master Shaman Teacher who has been practicing and teaching the art of energy healing for many years. In keeping with the honoring of our ancestors, I am deeply connected in spirit to a Cherokee great grandmother whom I’ve never met. The heartbeat of my native blood runs deep in my veins for it is these Native shamanic roots that keep me in tune with all aspects of nature. We are each born with this innate ability to heal ourselves. As a Reiki Master Shaman Teacher, I only facilitate the opening of this door for you – once you choose to walk through. Whether you are looking for a simple form of stress relief and relaxation, or you are looking to find the magic of the GREAT SPIRIT in your life again or if you just need a little spirit food to strengthen your spiritual muscles, then this healing modality will serve you well. When one lets go of the “normal” for the non-ordinary, the pathways to new perceptions begin to open. We all have so much potential yet we miss these every day moments because we have chosen not to see. Perhaps you are in search of your own medicine. It would be my honor to be the reflection necessary for you to see it as the eye cannot see itself. If you are ready to embark on a path of self healing and/or self discovery, I would love to assist you in the process.
Shamanic Reiki treatment session - $75 (approx 90 min) This session will relax you, awaken your senses, melt away stress and give you a glimpse of your spirits potential in that non-ordinary reality.
Reiki for your Pet - $30 for 30 minutes (in your home, travel fee may apply if long distance) Sometimes our little friends are in need of energy healing and yes, our pets love Reiki too! Animals are naturally in tune with the lighter, higher frequencies of our energetic being. Not only can pets benefit greatly from a Reiki healing session but, as many of us pet owners know, our animal friends are natural healers! Pets can also be attuned to Reiki just as people can and you will be amazed at the healing results!
Long Distance Reiki Healing - $50 (with permission, I will shamanic journey and send long distance healing to friends and/or loved ones)
Addiction Release Healing Session - $130 (in person only, includes Shamanic Reiki Energy Healing session and follow up visit)
Learn How to do Reiki for yourself and others!
First Degree Reiki Certification - $150
Second Degree Reiki Certification - $300 (Please inquire about Third Degree and Reiki Master Certifications)
A Reiki class will teach you this modality by further awakening and activating the divine DNA that is inherent in each and every one of us. Bring your physical self in tune with your spiritual steps. Anyone can learn! Shamanic Reiki is not a religious offering but it is very spiritual in nature. This certification class is different from most as it not only teaches the traditional Reiki history/practice but the shamanic references and roots as well. Energy healing is a transformative process which allows the client an opportunity to release old energy patterns. Once that intention is made, we can begin to free ourselves from that which no longer serves us; finally bringing balance to our mind, body and spirit. Whether one wishes to find healing, experience a deep sense of relaxation or to work on releasing something of greater intent, Shamanic Reiki is a non-invasive way to get in touch with your own power. All you have to do is trust your life force and let it guide you.
House Clearings - $100
Have you ever walked into a room in a house or visited a place outdoors where something didn't feel right? Just like the places you have visited where the energy was warm and welcoming, so too are there places in need of healing. People are not the only holders of memory; physical locations and places that we live in and work in also hold these etheric imprints of the past. A person might choose to have this type of clearing done when getting ready to sell a house, before moving into a new house, after they have been sick, suffered a bodily injury or perhaps just ready to move on to a new phase in their lives i.e. looking to 'clear' away any old energies of the past. Similar to a person asking for clearing of a 'block' of some sort, physical locations can also greatly benefit from an auric healing session. Auric clearings are done by first locating and identifying the source. The client and I work together during the healing session. Intention is the key, as we open the way to release trapped energies. Balance then returns to the physical self and/or location as Reiki energy is applied thereby raising the vibration and bringing back into harmony with it’s natural location. Most times, only one visit is necessary to clear and heal the space.
Spirit Minded Workshops - $20
These are informal yet informative, fun workshops designed to bring greater awareness and intention to our daily lives. Come on out and enjoy a fun evening with like minded souls as we open up and share the many different tools available for our spiritual tool box.
Medicine Woman Card Readings - $30 for 30 minutes
A Medicine Woman card reading will bring forth innate wisdom and encourage insight to your questions, thoughts or actions regarding past/present/future situations in your life. We already possess these answers to our life questions – sometimes we just need a little help hearing them. I am also available for Mentoring, Soul Retrieval and/or Power Animal Retrieval sessions. I have been going to Jen on and off for several years. She is an amazing massage therapist and very in tune to your body. I suffer from neck and shoulder pain and she manages to get me feeling great in no time! I highly recommend an 80 minute massage. You won't be disappointed!- E.B. Hingham. MA
Massage at Balance N Bodywork helped me stay limber and reduced my pain during the months before I had a hip replacement. The people there are so nice, and their encouragement lifted my spirits every time I visited them. - S.M. Hingham MA
As a result of chronic back and neck issues and on the advice of my chiropractor, I started seeing Jennifer on a regular basis three years ago. Her friendly demeanor professionalism, athletic experience and genuine concern made her a perfect fit. After a few introductory visits, Jennifer gently suggested a plan to address my health issues, advised me on some healthier lifestyle choices, as well as introduced me to other health professionals. Now, I workout regularly, am training for my first half-marathon, am eating healthier and I haven't needed to see my chiropractor in over a year... Thanks Jen - B.B. Hingham, MA
I think you are great. You helped me get back on my feet after a long recovery from knee surgery. You were professional, upbeat and kind. I really appreciated how knowledgeable you are, you have a healing touch! S.M. Cohasset, MA
I first came to see Jen when I began dealing with some IT Band and Achilles Tendon issues while training for a marathon. As a fitness professional I was apprehensive at first to the benefits of massage. I was completely blown away with her knowledge base. As I spoke with Jen she informed me that she went to school to be a physical therapy assistant and went into massage after because she thought the benefits were more beneficial. As she began my treatment I was blown away at the results. I would never have been able to complete my race without putting myself at serious risk of major injury. Balance N Bodywork Massage Therapy is the definition of professionalism. An absolute A+ operation. A.M. Scituate
I have going to Jen for years & now we go to Florida for the winter........so............
I have not be able to find anyone in our area that can hold a candle to Jen & how good I feel after a one hour massage. If I could, I would fly back once a month just to go to Balance & Body Works.
Thanks Jen....miss you...!
Just to begin: Balance n body work massage is so peaceful and relaxing. You walk in the door close it and all that troubles you is just starting to leave you. The welcome is exactly what you need. The massage is the message to stop thinking, just relax and be where you are. When all is done the beginning of a new day has just started. Thanks for what you do and know that visiting is always the best. PB...Hingham, MA
Oh my gosh, where to begin….I have been seeing Jen off and on for a couple of years now and Jen is absolutely GREAT! When no one else can get to the deepest layer of pain, Jen is able to. I deal with chronic neck and shoulder strain and there is no one else I’d rather go to. I highly recommend Balance and Bodywork for the best results!

"I have had back issues, specifically lower back, hip and nerve pain, for many years. Unfortunately, for many years I basically ignored these issues except for massages when it was unbearable. This strategy wasn't sustainable and I ended up with a herniated disc and chronic nerve and muscular pain. At the time that I met and started seeing Diana, I had been treating my issues for about a year with chiropractic and spinal care, with only some improvement. Diana was knowledgeable, caring, and literally got right to the issues! I have been seeing her regularly for a while now and she is one of the reasons I have been able to get back into regular exercise. I can sleep better now and gain valuable insight each time I see her. As someone who has seen many massage and muscular therapists over the years, I can honestly say that Diana is the best I have seen. I cannot recommend her enough. " - MG - Hingham
Jen's background in physical therapy is invaluable to her role as massage therapist. She understands not only how to address pain, stiffness, soreness and injury through massage, but can show you stretches and other tips to maintain the benefits of the massage after you leave her office. I have come to learn that regular massage is just as important as regular visits to the doctor -- it keeps your muscles healthy and helps address all those everyday aches and pains.
My quality of life is certainly better! - AG-Hingham
